Anonymity & Confidential Submissions

The Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH), published by EXACT RESEARCH SOLUTIONS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, recognizes that researchers in physical therapy, rehabilitation, community health, and allied health sciences may face exceptional personal, political, or institutional circumstances. Authors who wish to publish anonymously or under pseudonymity may request to do so under specific, justified conditions. This option is established to protect individuals facing legitimate personal safety, severe privacy, or sensitive humanitarian concerns, while maintaining ethical rigor and scientific integrity within our Open Journal Systems (OJS) framework.

Making a Request

To initiate a formal request for anonymous or confidential authorship:

  • Authors must submit a formal written application to the Editor-in-Chief prior to or during initial submission via Admin@jech.exactresolution.com.

  • The request must clearly state the specific, compelling reason(s) for seeking anonymous or pseudonymous publication.

Legitimate Reasons for Anonymity Requests Include:

  • Verified threats to personal, physical, or professional safety resulting from the publication of sensitive clinical or community health data.

  • Severe political or social sensitivity surrounding community health findings in high-risk regions.

  • Imminent risk of institutional persecution, political retaliation, or systemic discrimination.

  • Highly sensitive personal or medical circumstances that directly intersect with the subject matter of the research.

Review Process

  • Individual Case Evaluation: Each anonymity request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the publisher’s ethics committee and COPE guidance where necessary.

  • Strict Confidentiality: The true identity, institutional affiliation, and contact details of the requesting author(s) remain strictly confidential within a restricted handling circle of the editorial team and will never be exposed during or after the double-blind peer review process.

Important Considerations

  • Preserving Scientific Integrity: While JECH strives to support authors facing extraordinary circumstances, anonymity must never compromise scientific integrity, clinical data validity, ethical human subject oversight (IRB approval), or accountability for published findings under ICMJE Recommendations.

  • Indexing and Metadata Implications: Anonymous authorship may not be fully compatible with certain international scholarly indexing platforms, institutional repositories, or metadata standards, which may impact article discoverability.

  • Alternative Solutions: Where complete anonymity is unfeasible due to indexing constraints, the editorial team will work with the author to discuss viable alternatives (e.g., restricted metadata exposure, approved pseudonyms where legally permissible, or carefully framed institutional attribution).
