Repository & Self-Archiving

The Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH), published by EXACT RESEARCH SOLUTIONS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, permits and actively encourages authors to self-archive all versions of their manuscripts. Author self-archiving enhances scientific visibility, accelerates clinical knowledge translation in physical therapy and community health, and guarantees the permanent preservation of scholarly research.

Authors Are Allowed to Deposit Versions

Authors publishing in JECH may archive all three versions of their manuscript without any embargo periods, in accordance with the following terms:

1.1 Preprint (Submitted Manuscript)

  • Definition: The original version of the manuscript prior to formal peer review.

  • Permitted Platforms: Institutional repositories, subject-specific preprint servers, personal websites, and professional research profiles.

  • Recommended Note: > "This is a preprint version of a manuscript submitted to the Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH). It has not yet undergone formal double-blind peer review."

1.2 Postprint (Accepted Manuscript)

  • Definition: The revised manuscript accepted following double-blind peer review, prior to copyediting, typesetting, and final layout production.

  • Permitted Platforms: University repositories, national archives, disciplinary platforms, personal websites, and professional clinical networks.

  • Recommended Citation Note: > "This is the accepted post-review manuscript of an article accepted for publication in the Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH), published by EXACT RESEARCH SOLUTIONS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED under the CC BY 4.0 license."

1.3 Published Version (Version of Record – Final PDF)

  • Definition: The final formatted, proofread, and published PDF article.

  • Permitted Platforms: Institutional repositories, government databases, funding body archives, third-party repositories, and academic networking platforms.

  • Recommended Notice: > "© Author(s) [Year]. Published by EXACT RESEARCH SOLUTIONS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED in the Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH) under CC BY 4.0."

License Applied to Self-Archived Versions

All self-archived versions must retain the open-access terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license permits:

  • Unrestricted copying, sharing, and redistribution in any medium or format.

  • Remixing, transforming, and building upon the material for any purpose (including clinical guidelines, educational modules, and commercial applications).

All reuses must mandate full citation and clear attribution to the original author(s) and JECH.

Mandatory Citation of Published Article

When self-archiving any version of a manuscript, authors must include the complete bibliographic citation to support indexing, discoverability, and accurate academic credit:

  • Complete Article Title

  • Full List of Authors

  • Journal Name: Journal of Exact Community Health & Rehabilitation Sciences (JECH)

  • Volume, Issue, and Year of Publication

Embargo Period

There is zero embargo period. Authors are granted full rights to archive preprints, postprints, and published PDFs immediately upon submission, acceptance, or final online publication.

Allowed Repositories

Authors are free to deposit their work across a wide array of digital platforms, including:

  • University and institutional repositories

  • Disciplinary and medical domain repositories

  • National digital library systems

  • Grant funding agency databases

  • General-purpose repositories (such as Zenodo or Figshare)

  • Academic networking platforms and personal professional websites

Responsibilities of the Journal & Publisher

EXACT RESEARCH SOLUTIONS (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED and JECH commit to:

  • Preserving and maintaining structured manuscript metadata via standard OAI-PMH protocols.

  • Guaranteeing long-term digital preservation of the Version of Record through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP-PN).

  • Ensuring that all published articles remain permanently accessible, indexable, and legally archivable under the CC BY 4.0 license.
